# On-boarding using Edval Sync

If your school uses the Edval timetabling system, you can use Edval to update your classes, teachers and students in Literatu. This is an automatic update that can be run as often as you need.

The first step is to set up a secure connection between Edval and your school community in Literatu. Contact us at <support@literatu.com> and **request an Edval sync login** so you can set up this connection in Edval.

Once set up, you can run your **first sync** to set up Literatu with teacher, student and class accounts exactly as set up in Edval. The actual sync only takes a few minutes and your teachers and students will be able to login as soon as this sync is done.

You can also **re-sync** to keep Literatu updated with new students and teachers, movement between classes and so on. When Edval updates Literatu, we remove students and teachers that are no longer in a particular class, as well as adding new students.

**Note:** We always recommend syncing is done outside of active class hours.
