# On-boarding using Literatu CSV imports

Student, teacher and class data can be imported and updated using Literatu's own CSV format.

The data needed to populate the CSV is: Class Name, Teacher Name, Teacher Email, Teacher Password, Student Name, Student Email, Student Password, Class Subject and Class Year.

{% endfile %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Please make sure you don't change the column names or add extra columns.

If you are planning to use Google or Microsoft O365 single sign on, you will still need to set strong default passwords for the teacher and student accounts. These will be ignored when logging in via SSO, but they are required fields for Literatu.
{% endhint %}

When you have populated the columns in the CSV you can run your **initial import** to set up Literatu with teacher, student and class accounts. The import only takes a few minutes and your teachers and students will be able to login as soon as the import finishes.

You can also **re-import** at any time to keep Literatu updated with new students and teachers, movement between classes and so on.

{% hint style="info" %}
Once the files are exported they can be **uploaded to Literatu**. You will find instructions on the page link below.
