# Monitor Student Writing – Live

Why wait to see how students are progressing? Take a look right now.

Once an [Activity](/student-interaction/create-an-activity.md#two-types-of-activities) is underway in Scribo, teachers can Live Monitor student progress.

* Have students started the Activity?
* Are students using the suggested keywords?
* How is the word count and what level of writing are students working at?
* What are students actually writing?
* Can I offer some suggestions right now to keep them on track?
* Can I quickly see across the class to establish any trends that I could rectify?
* Can I track and analyse my feedback across all students and individually?

YES is the answer to all these questions, using Scribo's Monitor Activities.

### Monitor Activities – See into Student Writing as it is Happening

**In a single click you can** –

* List and sort all students, showing their progress, feedback, word counts and keyword usage right now.
* Open student work. The work can be from Google Docs or Word O365 or Web. Scribo gets the latest text and brings it into view.
* Run a quick writing check to see the progress and the feedback Scribo is giving the students.
* Get a summary of what students are writing about. In 6 sentences, see what is going on with Student response.
* Give feedback. Speak your feedback or select from a list of feedback snippets. Feedback will surface in Web, Google Docs and O365 for the students to see.
* SNAP a draft revision after your feedback to set a baseline to compare against.
* Check the feedback history for each student to see if your advice is showing results.
* Grade the text – X/Y or use Rubric grading. Whatever you do, students can see the grade. Why not let them know how they are tracking right now with a temporary grade? Nothing is final until you say it is and remember, surprises are for birthdays!
* Compare student texts side by side.
* Invoke Immersive Reader, the super cool text reader that will read and translate the text, even if you're working on something else.
* Create and send a Writing Report to the Student.
* Update the Scribo Panel Report for the cohort. Our famous cohort analysis report can be run any time, reflecting all student texts as they are when the report is created. The Work in Progress report can be projected for class discussion or teacher discovery, in seconds.
